Visitor Guidelines

Cabaniss Consultants welcomes and recognizes the importance of support from family and friends. It is our responsibility to maintain the safety of our clients, visitors, and staff. To further assist us, please adhere to the following guidelines while visiting on the grounds of Cabaniss Consultants. Thank you.

Visitation Hours

• Weekdays/Weekends/Holidays: 10am - 8pm

Exceptions to Visitation Hours: Due to confidentiality and dignity of other clients, please call the house manager first to make sure your family member is there and that is a good time to visit.

Visitation Requirements

• You must:
  • Check in with a house manager before visiting.
  • Provide identification if you are not known by staff
  • Sign the visitor's log upon arrival to the home
  • Sign out with a staff member upon your departure
• Visitation may occur in the group home or in the community.
• While you are visiting, please leave purses and personal bags in your car and lock your car doors. Items should not be visible within your car. The group homes cannot be responsible for maintaining or securing your personal belongings while you visit.

Safety Concerns

• You are prohibited from giving an individual:
  • Any item without showing it beforehand to a staff member to assess safety concerns.
  • Knives or other sharp objects which may be used as weapons in the homes (i.e., glass containers, razors, scissors, etc.)
  • Lighters or matches
  • Corded electrical appliances including radios
  • Plastic bags
  • Cell Phone with Cameras
• You may bring:
  • Gifts that are wrapped in a manner to allow staff to see the contents (i.e., gift bags or gift boxes with individually wrapped lids and bottoms).

Snacks and Food

• You may bring:
  • DECAFFEINATED coffee, soda, or tea in sealed containers
  • LIMITED amounts of single serving healthy snacks
• You may not bring:
  • Caffeinated products
  • Items that need to be refrigerated due to our lack of refrigerates space
